Digital Domain Brings Virtual Reality To Major Worldwide Event In Sports

PLAYA VISTA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Academy Award winning studio, Digital Domain, announced today that it will bring its state-of-the-art virtual reality (VR) capabilities to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for a major sporting event. Serving as a key provider of live streaming, 360° video, Digital Domain will debut Zeus, its brand new 360° VR camera and the latest addition to Digital Domain’s industry-leading virtual reality technology. The Digital Domain team will be shooting, packaging and distributing over 250 hours of VR content. Developing custom apps for this content to be viewed globally by fans on smartphones, tablets, Gear VR and desktop computers.

Virtual reality has grown dramatically over the past year, giving people from all walks of life the opportunity to experience live events, competitions and exotic locales they never dreamed possible.
